Supporting the Sandwich Generation: Caring Up and Down

Supporting the Sandwich Generation: Caring Up and Down

Caring for children while also supporting ageing parents can be deeply rewarding, but it can also feel emotionally, physically and financially demanding. This session is designed to recognise the realities of balancing multiple caring responsibilities, while offering practical support, guidance and reassurance for carers navigating the many pressures and priorities of the ‘sandwich generation’.

During this session, we’ll explore how carers can protect their wellbeing while meeting the needs of those who depend on them. The focus is on practical, compassionate guidance, not perfection. Participants will gain tools to manage competing demands, set healthy boundaries, reduce burnout and have confident conversations with family, employers and support services. We’ll also highlight available resources and support, so carers don’t feel they have to do everything alone.

This session will provide space to pause, reflect and come away with ideas that can make everyday caring more sustainable - at home, at work and within yourself.
